Principal's Message

 Hardaway

Welcome to Applied Technology Center High School, home of the Iron Horses!  My name is Dr. Stephanie A. Hardaway.  As the newly appointed Principal of ATC, it is with great pride that I introduce myself.  I am honored to serve

as Principal, as it is a role of dedication to excellence and student achievement.

In addition to the excitement of beginning my work at ATC, I also look forward to the work we will do together.  An African Proverb that resonates with me is

“It takes a village to raise a child.” I know that I cannot do this work alone, and I

look forward to partnering with you in our shared commitment to empower students to achieve academic excellence as model citizens.

ATC, a College and Career Pathways high school integrates an A-G curriculum with four pathways:

Culinary, Hospitality, and Event Fundamentals (CHEF)

Architecture, Construction, and Engineering (ACE)

Public and Legal Services (PALS)

Health Sciences

ATC has earned a reputation of academic excellence through the hard work of our students, facilitators, parents, and staff.  Our students engage in a challenging academic environment using project-based learning (PBL).  They collaborate and create authentic projects that promote their career interest.

At ATC, our students are at the center of everything we do.   We believe that it is important for our students to be connected to the school through positive relationships and a strong sense of community.  Daily, our dedicated school personnel come to school ready to stimulate students’ learning, to inspire students to work hard, persevere, and achieve their goals. Our facilitators and staff are dedicated to ensuring all students are college and career ready when they graduate, able to pursue their dreams.

Daily attendance is a crucial part of success for our students.  Our students’ parents and guardians play an essential role in our “village” ensuring that students are in school, on time, and ready to learn each day.  We recognize that family support is integral to our success.  We encourage our families to stay connected with us through PowerSchool, Schoology, our school and district websites, Instagram, and Google Classroom.

When our students and families collaborate with us, we can provide our students with a quality, high-interest, student-centered curriculum, provided in a non-threatening environment that promotes trustworthiness, respect, and responsibility.  In this small learning community that combines project-based learning with work-based learning opportunities, we celebrate student achievement, continue to build on our successful foundation, and foster a learning environment where all in our ATC community thrive.   We maintain our village as one where exceptional teaching and learning are the norm.  We are proud to partner with our students on their educational journey!
